Konistag 25 Vorhexen 2522 to Aubentag 4 Nachexen 2523
The heroes set out into a heavy fog that stayed for most of the day. Gard was riding ahead on point when he and a small group of goblins surprised each other. One of the goblins reacted more quickly than the others and struck a wicked blow against Gard. Gard turned and fled back to the others and the goblins chased him. At the same time, Goblins fired arrows from the forest towards the cart. Wolfgang made quick work of the goblins in the trees, and the goblins chasing Gard, seeing the fireball throwing Bright Wizard, turned and ran back into the fog. Andred aimed carefully and took one down before it could escape.
The heroes continued to hear of more trouble in Averland, but continued south regardless. Over the next few days they saw signs of trouble, but did not come across any more enemies. They did come across a circus troupe travelling north to Middenheim and, upon leaving the Drakwald and entering Reikland, across patrolling Reikland military forces. They were trapped a day outside of Altdorf by a strong blizzard but finally made it into the city.
Wolfgang bid them farewell, providing them with the details of a good inn and his address, suggesting they look him up should they need any assistance. Pieter Brusch and his family also left the group without much fanfare. The heroes went to the inn (The Blessing of Taal), were awed by the city and the number of people living within it.
The next day they met with Dieter Klemperer, a Celestial wizard, who understood their plight and offered to help them. He wrote them letters of introduction to a Magister Messner, a wizard of the Light College who would be able to assist them in finding out more about demons and Lord Frederick, a powerful noble within the city who aided those fighting against the forces of Chaos.
They were unable to meet with Magister Messner, as they were unable to enter the Light College (it being in a different dimension) so they left a note on the pillar and continued on to see Lord Frederick. Lord Frederick was helpful, offering to both talk to the officials in Empire House to see whether the heroes could have their heavy armour and weaponry returned to them, and writing them an introduction to Theodora Pferig – a retired witch hunter who may know more about daemons and the Dagger of Yul K’Chaum. The heroes returned to the Blessing of Taal to retire for the evening.
