Backertag 27 Nachgeheim to Wellentag 32 Nachgeheim
Andred and Reuben spoke to Father Ranulf at the Temple of Sigmar. He paid them for their hard work and responded to their request for more work. He asked them to come back tomorrow, when he would be able to provide them with more work.
They went back to the Broken Dragon. Kadfina was visited by two of Fat Rudi’s toughs. They warned her to keep in touch and let her know she was expected for a fight in 5 nights time.
Andred was also approached by an urchin with a message which resulted in him meeting up with his brother Tomas. Andred found out that his mother was certainly dead, but that his 2nd sister, Roz, was alive and was staying with Tomas in his room in the Ostwald. Tomas was in a spot of trouble and asked Andred to help him steal a painting so that the owner wouldn’t discover that Tomas had sold him a fake. This involved scurrying across the warehouse roofs and leaping across a large gap between warehouses. Unfortunately Andred didn’t make the leep and fell 10 yards slamming into the ground. Reuben, who arrived just in time to watch Andred plummet to the ground, and Tomas brought him back to the Broken Dragon to recover.
Awaking the next morning, Durcia and Andred awoke to pain and fever. Their time in the sewer had resulted in their catching the sticky stench. Pungent thick yellow pus poured from their wounds. Kadfina and Reuben set off to find a healer. Kadfina brought a priestess of Shallya back but whilst she was able to heal some of their wounds, she was unable to summon enough of Shallya’s strength to cure the disease.
Reuben, meanwhile met again with Father Ranulf who introduced him to Father Odo. Father Odo told a terrible tale of a stone on a mound, covered in skulls somewhere in the Drakwald, which held a brass skull. The Brass Skull was apparently a strong chaos artifact and would awaken a mighty chaos warrior. Father Ranulf pushed them to leave today, as the risk of the evil skull falling in the wrong hands was too high.
Reuben, accompanied by Bruno, a young man working for the Cult of Sigmar, his horses and a cart returned to the Broken Dragon and picked up the diseased heroes, taking them back to the Temple. The priests were unable to heal them, because Shallya had already blessed them today. Andred demands a doctor and one is found. The solution to their ills seems to be to rub a silvery liquid on their sores. Kadfina prayed to her own gods and Reuben went back to see Deputy High Priest Liebnitz in the Church of Ulric. Liebnitz is shocked to hear what the heroes were being asked to find. Liebnitz begs Reuben to bring the brass skull back to him, rather than risk giving it to the Sigmarites. Claus Liebnitz gives Reuben the warrior gods blessing. They pour their blood into a bowl and drink. The power sends a shiver down Reuben’s spine.
They left Middenheim. Durcia and Andred laying uncomfortably in the back of the cart. Later that day they came across a Jade wizard named Johan. Father Odo made them carry on refusing to talk to one of the accursed wizards. Durcia, fevered by the sticky stench, fell off the cart and tried to approach the wizard seeking healing, but she was dragged back. They stay that night at Grubentreich.
The Doctor’s treatment was successful and over the course of the day Durcia and Reuben are healed of their illnesses (although Andred sees little evidence of it). Unfortunately the medicine poisons both Durcia and Andred and they spend alot of the trip south emptying their stomachs over the edge of the cart.
The next day they find three men strung up, hanged on three branches but no clues as to why. They stay that night at Malstedt. The next day they find the body of two dwarves, a male and female. They put the bodies in the cart and bury them at the next town of Sotturm.
The next day they came across a group of pilgrims. Worshippers of Morr. They spoke briefly sharing news of the road, where they learnt of the town of Fintel, which has become, for some reason, completely devoid of people. Before they reached Fintel the heroes came across 5 armoured soldiers, who they tell of the pilgrims. The 5 men pick up their gear and make haste after them.
The village, or outpost, of Fintel is peculiar. Only a few houses, no people, and some belongings remaining. They stay there that night. Unfortunately Durcia falls asleep on watch, but fortunately nothing bad appears to happen.
They leave Fintel the next morning, still heading west. On turning around a bend, they see four giant wolves eating a deer carcass. The horses frighten and the giant wolves hear and charge. Father Odo casts a spell which removes the fear. In the battle, both Durcia and Andred, still sorely injured take further damage, as does Bruno who has his arm savaged by a wolf. One of the horses is killed but the four wolves are killed.
Father Odo successfully heals the group and they stop to take stock of their predicament.
