Festag 10 Nachexen to Wellentag 11 Nachexen
Gard was found, thankfully unhurt, and joined his comrades in the tavern room. He was surprised to see them facing off against the Altdorf watch, who sought to escort them to a watch house to further their inquiries.
The heroes agreed, and were taken into the watch house, where they deposited their weapons and were taken into an interrogation room. They told their story, and the watchmen left after advising them that the innkeeper was pressing charges and they would go before the Judge in the morning. Perhaps an hour later, a Witch Hunter calling himself Georg Geibler asked for their stories again. He was much more open in his suspicions of the heroes, and seemed to suspect them of summoning the Daemons, rather than fighting them off. Their regular contact with the various Colleges of Wizardry, apparently standing them in poor light. After Georg left Andred told them that Georg had been drawing pictures of their faces while talking to them. The other heroes asked why he had given Georg a false name (Dietrich), concerned that this was going to get them in more trouble.
After an uncomfortable night, Lord Fredericks entered the room and positively identified the heroes. With part of their story confirmed, the Watch were happy to accept payment from Lord Fredericks for the inconvenience caused (for both them and Innkeeper) and the heroes were released with no charge.
The heroes told Lord Fredericks their story, and he offered them the opportunity to stay at his town house for up to a week, knowing that they would be hard pressed to find quality accommodation in Altdorf in the lead-up to the Spring Festival. The heroes leapt at the opportunity. Once back at Lord Frederick’s estate, they asked a servant to organise a Doctor to attend their wounds, and then settled in for a large lunch. After lunch they visited the Temple of Shallya, and then despite getting lost once or twice, managed to find their way to the Three Beards Tavern.
The heroes spent the early evening there, looking to see if they could identify the woman that Berthold had described to them. However they did not see her, and finally disgusted with the cheap, watery and stale ale, they left. On the way back to Lord Frederick’s town house, Gard was struck down by the sausage he had eaten earlier, at the three beards tavern, and his comrades had to assist him back.
